Details and Examples
I still enjoy teaching, more so these days without the responsibilities of being Head of Department, and now that I have more time, I can prepare and photograph demonstrations which are proving to be a useful resource for independent learning in the classroom.
I find that I use them in a variety of ways; sometimes it's useful to show how a particular vegetable or fruit should be prepared, or even what it actually looks like! During a practical session, the Powerpoints can be a real help because the presentation can be set to repeat, so that students at different stages can see what to do next. Each presentation includes the full recipe, equipment required, oven temperature and cooking time.
AN EXAMPLE of a full Powerpoint presentation can be viewed by clicking on the link below. This is for a recipe for Chocolate Chip, Raisin and Sunflower Seed Cookies. Please be patient whilst it loads. You can advance each slide with a mouse click or by using the arrow keys on the keyboard.
